A login that will not go through is nearly always a typing problem rather than a fault with the account. This guide explains each field you are asked for, shows where people slip, and gives you a quick order of checks when a player says “login failed”.

What your login contains

Your activation message contains three items, and sometimes a fourth:

ItemLooks likeNotes
Server URLhttp://example-host.com:8080Includes the scheme and usually a port
UsernameA string of letters and numbersCase-sensitive
PasswordA string of letters and numbersCase-sensitive
M3U link (optional)One long URL containing the username and passwordFor players without an Xtream option

The example address above is a placeholder to show the shape. Always use the exact details you were sent.

Entering it in a player

Open your player and add a new playlist, user or provider. Choose the option called Xtream Codes, Xtream API or Login with username and password — the wording varies, the meaning does not. Then fill in:

  1. Name — anything you like. It is only a label inside the app.
  2. Server / URL / Portal — the full server address.
  3. Username and Password — exactly as supplied.

Save, and wait while the player downloads the channel list and guide.

The mistakes that cause “login failed”

Leaving out http:// or the port

The server address must start with http:// or https://, whichever you were given, and must keep its port number after the colon. example-host.com on its own will fail in most players.

Swapping http and https

They are not interchangeable. If your details say http://, typing https:// produces a connection error, and the reverse is also true.

Capital letters and look-alike characters

Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. The usual culprits are capital I and lowercase l, the digit 0 and the letter O, and the digit 1. TV keyboards often capitalise the first letter automatically — check it.

A trailing space

Copying from a message can pick up a space at the end. On a phone it is invisible; in the player it breaks the login. Delete back to the last character and retype it.

The long M3U link belongs only in an “M3U URL” or “playlist URL” field. The Xtream server field wants the short address with the port.

If it still fails

Work through these in order:

  1. Test the same details in a second player or on a second device. If they work there, the problem is the first app.
  2. Check whether another device is already playing. With one connection, a second stream may be refused.
  3. Confirm your plan has not reached its end date.
  4. Restart the router, then try once more.
  5. Send support the name of your player, your device model and the exact wording of the error. Never send a screenshot that shows your password to anyone else.

Keeping your login safe

Treat the details like any other password. Do not post them in forums or group chats, and do not type them into an app you do not recognise. Sharing a login beyond your household can trip the connection limit and lock everyone out mid-programme.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my username or password?

They are issued with the account. If you believe someone else has your details, contact support and ask for them to be reset.

Why does one app accept my login and another reject it?

Players differ in how strictly they parse the server address. One may add a missing http:// for you while another will not. Enter the full address and both should work.

Only if your player has no Xtream Codes option. Where both are available, Xtream is the better choice because films, series and the guide load separately and correctly.

How many devices can I add the login to?

As many as you like. The limit applies to simultaneous streams, not installed devices. See the pricing page for connection options.
